College

I just started college yesterday at Metro doing business foundation for a year.

And guess who is in the same course. Robbee and Kenneth!!! What a coincidence... And Robbee thought I was at Aus the whole time o.O

Nicolette, my form 1 classmate was there. And i met Alvin.. he just finish his SAM first semester and he was there to give us a tour.

Metro is so quiet and small. But according to our lecturer, the people will be coming back cos most of them are taking their degrees overseas. By August maybe.

College seems nice. I hope you will think the same. And for those who are still in sec school, enjoy la =P

6^Th June

We had to be at school by 8a.m. to usher people to the registration rooms. And guess what, they were actually people who were earlier than us. I was supposed to pass the registration list to Erika by 8 so Erika was like “Chin Hui!!! You’re late.” Swt… The rest were early… not that I’m late.

People start coming in including the Teenacity people. Felt so awkward cos I was the only ex-form 5 who went, the only non Teenacity member, to be an adult leader. Name tag was blue, committee are purple, normal campers are green and the pastors are red.

I was in Bus 1 led by Philip. Kenny and Darren were in the same bus. After the 2 to 3 hours ride, we finally reached the place! D’Village Resort, Malacca!! Few of the older ones who have car went there earlier to set up the place. And the ballroom was HUGE!! Can fit like one whole school in it o.O. Just imagine the worship team on the huge stage! All of us were as to gather to our groups except for the committee and leaders. Name tags were given to campers. The groups are

Guardian Angel game was explained, and this time it was not that fun like previous years. This year, we only get to guard in groups. Which means, we can roughly figure out who is guarding us? Lunch break then back to group time. Discuss about the groups’ war cry and skit. There was Sudden Death held before every preaching session. One group will fight another in presenting their skit. The winner is based on the loudest cheer. But actually, it was judge by some people and the teachers. Haha. We will decide by voting and just show skit 1 or 2 by our fingers and Cheryl (Darren sis) will see and inform the emcee. Hahaha.. Also Oliver Twist was explained. It’s just like riddles.

After that we were assigned to our rooms. For me, I’m the room leader and my roommates are some form 2 guys. So sad. Beside my room are Howard, Matthew, and Adrian. Next to theirs are Ele.

We had to quickly change to our sport attire. Adrian introduces to us the game. It initially needed flags. But they could not find any. So they use rubbish bins from the hotel. The ones exactly like in classrooms. Each group was supposed to guard their bin from opponent’s attackers. While the defenders tries to remove a tail (masking tape) to prevent them from playing.

Wash up and it was dinner time. Howard was so lonely so I pull him to the SU table XD. The food was not bad actually.

Teenacity led us into a time a of praise and worship led by Philip. First session was led by Pastor Andy. Pastor decided to have altar call even though it normally happens during the last night, but what ya now! God presence and holy anointing was at the place. Few have rededicated their lives and some accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour. Committee and leader’s meeting was on after the session. I was kinda lost during altar call and even before the session. Alvin the camp commandant then briefs us in more detail. What ya now, only the committee are allowed to pray and catch people. The leaders are in charge of blankets and tissues. I mean catching people sure no problem right? Checked which group am I suppose to advise tmr for devotion and during group time. And guess, it’s my bro’s group which is Spirit Shakers!

Oh well, back to room and my juniors were still awake. I told them to sleep. But they would not one to listen until the security came and knock our door. Haha Padan muka.

7^th june

Next morning, we look our group score board and saw my juniors name been put on the board for not sleeping during lights out. My name was there actually but I do not belong to any group, so they could not minus points. Schedule was change. Registration for Subang Rally was launched.

Session 2 led by Pastor Chris Long. Btw, Teenacity led worship for session 1, 2, 3 and 5. After lunch it was BGR workshop by Pastor Sandra Chin!! Funny pastor la she. During free time I will normally hang out with Adrian and Howard in the next room. Could not stand my junior bunch XP.

Showed Subang Rally Video at night. So funny and lame.

Session 3 led by Pastor Chris Long again. Had a crazy praise and worship by pastor and team. They just did like how Planet Shakers would. Crazy people. I wanted to join but I refrained myself cos I’m an adult leader. So I have responsibilities if something happen. Erika was like pushing me to join but I refrain myself.

Once again, had meeting after session. This time is to discuss about activities for games and Night Time for the next day. The plans were so nice and fun to watch others performing it. We the committee and leader experiment with some of the games to see how it goes for games tmr.

8^th june

Praise and Worship led by Jo Ben and some mix of non SU students. Among them were, Howard, Adrian and Sheryl. Howard and Adrian Kept complaining to me about the team of not having practice and non cooperate members. Session 4 was led by Pastor Andy. After lunch it was workshops led by different people. The workshops were Fashion and Grooming, Forming a Band, Keeping Fit, Financial and Time Management. Some of us did not join cos we had to prepare for games. We spend like half an hour to prepare just for one game. There were 5 stations. My station was the one with marshmallow mix with flour and water in basin. Another one was, you have to clear a plate with peanuts covered in tomato sauce. Another one you have to chew bubble gum and sculpture the twin towers with it. Another one you have to just transfer a straw from mouth to feet. The last one was banana dip in salted milk. It was so fun to watch them doing it.

Pei Yi appeared during dinner! Right on time. Everyone was like. “Pei Yi!! How did you come?!”

Then when she just sat down at the table, (not literally) someone came and ask for her signature. Wow. VIP!! But actually many had already sign on that book so that does not make her so special anymore. =P

Night session was led by Pastor Chris Long and another crazy Planet Shaker session. =P After session, it was TIME’S UP. Sudden Death Final Round. Joshua called me using a 016 number o.O. After talking I pass the phone to Pei Yi, and she called him TAN BOON HENG! Hahaha. Then she pass the phone to MJ and … the rest is kept secret =P

It ended so late and they still wanna continue with the quarter finals, semi finals and finals. Quarter final is about the leader and ass leader will choose either an onion or ginger and eat it. Semi finals, you partner will squeeze lemon and lime with their mouth and you will have to drink it. The FINAL round, I’m sure all of you were not able to find that out. You will have to….. JUICE!! Hahahaa… We the committee and leader were laughing after they got the shock. Going through the trough rounds, but the final is just so simple. In the end, Gummi Beruang won! It ended around 2.

9^th june

Had to wake up early for practice. SU led worship during the last day of camp! But, the campers were already so tired and during praise and worship they all like zombies. So l did an ice breaker, teaching them our SSFL club handshake to boost them.

I personally didn’t think that we did well for the praise and worship session. I was so disappointed with myself cos I did not do my best. Last session was led by Pastor Chris. Then, it was Prize Giving and the Reveal of Guardian Angel. Pastor Andy agreed to join our SSFL club being the Pastor Advisor =P. But I was not at the mood at moment. We went back to our rooms and packed. Photoshoot session was then. And its home sweet home again.

What do I find during camp?

Hmm… I at first thought it was to churchy but then after a while of thinking it was not. They actually applied the principle of speaking in tongues in church, but they refrain during camp cos of the different domination that joins for the camp. I also though that ACTS do altar call like a routine because they play the same songs for altarcall. But, to understand that many are non Christian and its hard for them to take in to many songs.

God has definitely touched me throughout the camp although I was able to enjoy most of the activities. God is always there for me even when I fall. God has purpose for my life. I will try to be stronger and to be close relationship with God but its just so hard. I understood Erika’s feeling during altar call the second night. When she cried out, I almost cry as well. And also during the time Pastor Chris ask the committee and leaders to form a line and just hug to those who come to you. So touch. God is thoroughly remarkable not only during camp but all the days of our lives. Amen.
